(Gatestone Institute) Majid Rafizadeh - Significant parts of Iran's economy are controlled by the Office of the Supreme Leader, led by Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). The Supreme Leader and the IRGC will be the first beneficiaries of any extra revenues from sanctions relief. They will most likely use the additional cash to strengthen their military apparatuses to export their revolutionary ideals to other countries, including anti-Americanism. The billions of dollars that Iran will gain from sanctions relief will be directed towards sponsoring terrorism, funding and arming militia and terror groups across the Middle East, harming U.S. national and security interests, undermining U.S. allies, advancing the regime's clandestine nuclear weapons program, and suppressing the Iranian people.
