(Times of Israel) The Israeli Air Force destroyed a Russian-made S-200 missile system of the Syrian Army after it launched a missile that exploded near central Israel early Friday morning, Israel's Channel 12 reported. The Syrian air defense missile flew over Israel before exploding over the Mediterranean Sea. Missile fragments were later found in the Tel Aviv area. The Syrian military fired the missile in response to what Syrian state media said were Israeli airstrikes near Damascus.
