(Al Jazeera) Nida Ibrahim - Saleem Nawati, 16, was transferred from Gaza to the West Bank on Dec. 26 to receive treatment for leukemia. But the An-Najah National University Hospital in Nablus refused to admit him, citing a dispute with the government over unpaid hospital bills. Not one hospital in the West Bank agreed to receive him, Saleem's family told Al Jazeera, and he died on Jan. 9 at the Ministry of Health office in Ramallah as he was waiting to secure a hospital bed. Mohannad Nawati, Saleem's brother, said, "When Saleem went to the hospital, they refused to admit him, saying the PA has not paid its debts, but three other people were admitted - I am sure they had better connections and managed to get themselves in." 2022-02-10 00:00:00Full Article
