(New York Times) Farnaz Fassihi and Ronen Bergman - A senior Iranian military officer, Col. Ali Esmaelzadeh, died at his home a week after another high-ranking officer in the same unit, Col. Sayad Khodayari, was killed in a drive-by shooting in Tehran. Both officers were members of a secret detachment of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Unit 840, which Israeli officials say is tasked with killing foreigners abroad.
