(Jerusalem Post) Khaled Abu Toameh - The PA leadership has come under heavy pressure from the U.S. and some EU states to take real measures to end the phenomenon of gunmen roaming the streets of Palestinian communities, Palestinian sources said Wednesday. The rallies, mostly in the areas of Nablus and Jenin over the past year, have embarrassed the Palestinian leadership in the international arena, especially to Western donors. A Palestinian official in Ramallah said nearly all of the Fatah-affiliated members of the Lions' Den armed group in Nablus have turned themselves in to the Palestinian security forces with the prospect of joining the forces.
