(Jerusalem Post) Judy Siegel-Itzkovich - A rare half-shekel silver coin from the first year of the First Jewish Revolt against the Romans two millennia ago has been discovered in the Ein Gedi nature reserve in the Judean Desert. The coin had the words "The Holy Jerusalem" in ancient Hebrew on its face and is dated to 66/67 CE. The coin was found in the course of the Judean Desert Survey led by the Israel Antiquities Authority, with the aim of examining every cave and retrieving ancient finds before antiquity looters do so.
