(JTA) Uriel Heilman - When Israel's national emergency service, Magen David Adom, opened a mobile blood donation site in Modiin on Tuesday, 650 volunteers showed up and within an hour staffers said they had reached their blood-collecting capacity. At a shopping center in Maccabim, volunteers were collecting supplies for soldiers. Community members dropped off items they'd brought from home or stores, teenagers sorted them, and volunteers loaded them onto trucks.
