(Ha'aretz) Hilo Glazer - Six commanding officers, seven other army personnel, and one new recruit prevented Hamas' takeover of the Zikim training base on Oct. 7. These 14 fighters of the IDF Home Front Command's co-ed search and rescue brigade repelled 50 well-armed terrorists while under overwhelming fire, pulling out their fallen comrades and taking their places. Six officers and one recruit were killed.
