(Walla-Jerusalem Post) IDF Maj.-Gen. Yoram Laredo, head of the National Emergency Authority, stated Thursday that since the beginning of the war on Oct. 7, 125,000 residents from the north and south have been evacuated to hotels and guest rooms funded by the state. The first evacuees were communities up to 4 km. from Gaza. A week later, communities located 4-7 km. from the border and the city of Sderot were evacuated. Soon after, communities within 2 km. of the northern border, the city of Kiryat Shmona, and 14 other communities in the north were evacuated.
