(AP) Edith M. Lederer - The U.S. on Tuesday vetoed an Arab-backed UN resolution demanding an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza. The vote in the Security Council was 13 in favor and 1 - the U.S. - against, with the UK abstaining.
