(BBC News) Christina McSorley - Reports of antisemitic incidents in the UK in the first half of 2024 have reached a record high. From January to June 2024, Britain's Community Security Trust (CST) recorded reports of 1,978 anti-Jewish hate incidents, up from 964 in the first half of 2023. There were 121 incidents of assault, an increase of 41% from the same period last year. Cases of damage and desecration to Jewish property rose from 24 to 83. British Home Secretary Yvette Cooper described the figures as "truly appalling." She added: "There is no place in Britain for this vile hatred and we are absolutely clear that those who push this poison - on the streets or online - must always face the full force of the law." 2024-08-08 00:00:00Full Article
