[New York Times] Isabel Kershner - An Israeli defense committee has approved the construction of 22 homes in Maskiot, in the Jordan Valley, intended for families forced to leave the former Gaza settlement of Shirat Hayam in 2005. The army had promised to keep the families together, and at least eight of the families are already living at Maskiot in trailers.
