(New York Times) Adam Rasgon - The Palestine Liberation Organization's executive committee met in the West Bank on Saturday night to allow Mahmoud Abbas, the aging Palestinian Authority president, to appoint a longtime loyalist, Hussein al-Sheikh, as deputy chairman of the committee. Al-Sheikh said on social media that he also now bore the title of "vice president of the State of Palestine."
