Israel Refuses to Abandon Its Hostages


(JNS) Dr. Fiamma Nirenstein - On Aug. 5, Ariel Bibas should have celebrated his sixth birthday. Instead, Ariel, his baby brother Kfir, and their mother, Shiri, 32, were murdered by the Palestinian terrorists who held them hostage for months. For almost two years, Israel has fought a war of rescue, a war to bring its sons and daughters home. The Israel Defense Forces have been fighting with one hand tied behind its back - to preserve the lives of those still in the terrorists' clutches. This war will not end until the hostages come home. The writer, a fellow at the Jerusalem Center for Security and Foreign Affairs, served as vice president of the Committee on Foreign Affairs in the Italian Chamber of Deputies.
