[Jerusalem Post] Michael Freund - A Muslim journalist facing charges of sedition for advocating ties with Israel was recently attacked and beaten in Bangladesh. Salah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury, editor of the English-language Weekly Blitz published in Dhaka, was working in his office on Oct. 5 when 40 people stormed the premises, beat Choudhury, and looted cash. The attackers were led by Helal Khan, international affairs secretary of Jasas, the cultural wing of the ruling Bangladeshi National Party, and included Babul Ahmed, Jasas' secretary-general.
