Army's Ethics Chief: Israel Fought Fair in Gaza
[AP/Washington Post] Karin Laub - "I didn't see in the Gaza operation anything that can teach us or show us that something in the moral attitude of the IDF was...changed or spoiled," Brig. Gen. Eli Shermeister, the Israeli army's chief education officer and ethics watchdog, said in an interview. A wave of international criticism, and an imminent UN investigation, have deepened a sense in Israel that it is being treated unfairly and held to impossible standards. Most Israelis felt the war was a justified response to the Palestinian missile campaign that has disrupted life in southern Israel and killed more than 20 people.
