Iran Opposes U.S. Base Deal for Colombia
[AP] Carlos Valdez - Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said last week in Bolivia that his country opposes an impending deal to expand the U.S. military's presence in Colombia. Tehran has cultivated closer ties with leftist-led nations in Latin America that are pushing for more distance from U.S. policy. "The hegemonic policies (of the United States) in Latin America and Asia have completely failed," he said.
