How Successful Was Israel's Gaza Operation?

The Hamas leadership did not have to make any formal concession in order to bring about a cessation of the IDF onslaught. Hence, it could always claim that the attack had in fact failed, provided enough Hamas leaders survived to tell that tale - which was indeed the case.
