Saudi Efforts to Combat Terrorist Financing
[Washington Institute for Near East Policy] Michael Jacobson - Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner has praised improved Saudi efforts in combating terrorist financing. However, the kingdom remains one of the major sources of terrorist financing throughout the world, with significant funds from private donors continuing to go to al-Qaeda, the Taliban, and Laskhar-e Taiba (LET), among other groups. The writer, a senior fellow at The Washington Institute, served as a senior advisor in the Treasury Department's Office of Terrorism and Financial Intelligence.
