Muslim Cleric in Melbourne Sought to "Kill 1,000"
[The Australian] Natasha Robinson - Islamic cleric Abdul Nacer Benbrika allegedly wanted to kill 1,000 Australians to "please Allah" and to force the government to withdraw troops from Iraq and Afghanistan. "If we kill, we kill here 1,000," Benbrika allegedly said in a conversation taped by police. Thirteen men are being tried in Melbourne Magistrates Court, accused of being members of a terrorist organization which Benbrika directed.
