Egypt Detains Muslim Brotherhood Protesters
(Reuters) Egyptian authorities detained about 1,000 people during nationwide demonstrations organized by the banned but usually tolerated Muslim Brotherhood in favor of political reform, judicial sources said on Thursday. "We had 60,000 people over 15 provinces," Mohamed Habib, deputy leader of the Brotherhood, said Thursday, suggesting that the demonstrations were the most successful protests this year in Egypt.
