UN Elects Israeli as One of 21 General Assembly Vice Presidents
(Jerusalem Post) Herb Keinon - The UN on Monday appointed Israel's ambassador Dan Gillerman as one of 21 new vice presidents of the General Assembly for the first time since 1952 when Abba Eban was given this ceremonial post. Israel's candidacy was put forth by the Western Europe and Others Group (WEOG).
