New 5-Star Hotel Opens in Gaza
(AP) Diaa Hadid - The Gaza Strip's first five-star hotel, the $47 million Al-Mashtal, gleams with marble floors, five luxury restaurants and a breezy cafe overlooking the territory's white sandy beaches and sparkling blue Mediterranean Sea. Nearly all of the hotel's 222 rooms are decked out with ornate metal-worked lamps, flat screen televisions, oversized beds and sea views. The hotel was opened earlier this month by Padico, a company controlled by Palestinian billionaire Munib al-Masri.
