(Yediot Ahronot-Hebrew) Fed by winter rains, the level of Lake Kinneret (the Sea of Galilee) has risen to 209.17 meters below sea level, only 37 cm short of the upper red line of -208.8. Preparations are being made to open the Degania dam, allowing water to flow down the Jordan River to the Dead Sea, in order to avoid the risk of flooding.
