Palestinians Harden Refusal to Accept a "Jewish State"
[Jerusalem Post] Prime Minister Ehud Olmert reiterated on Wednesday that there could be no substantive peace negotiations without explicit Palestinian recognition of Israel as a Jewish state. Palestinian peace negotiator Saeb Erekat told Al-Arabiya Wednesday that "the Palestinians will never acknowledge Israel's Jewish identity." PA Prime Minister Salaam Fayad was also quoted by Israel Radio as rejecting Olmert's demand.
