U.S. Would Like to See Hamas "Put Out of Business"
(US State Department) - State Department spokesman Richard Boucher said Monday: "We recognize Israel's right to defend itself and we recognize that Hamas is a terrorist organization and Mr. Rantisi was the leader of a terrorist organization....We especially consider groups that are actively blowing up people to be terrorist organizations. Hamas, unfortunately, qualifies as such." "We're looking for people to put Hamas out of business....The Gaza pullout is going to go more smoothly and be more successful if Hamas is not around at all."
