"Jeep-Bomb" Rocks Civilian Convoy on Philadelphia Route
(Maariv International) Amir Buhbut and Marwan Athamana - An IDF soldier was lightly injured when a "jeep-bomb" exploded near a civilian convoy traveling near Rafah Friday. A dirt embankment built on the route absorbed most of the shock wave and prevented additional casualties. As a bus carrying Port Authority workers who man the Rafah merchandise terminal arrived in the area of the Philadelphia route, a jeep suddenly emerged and blew up near the military vehicle escorting the bus.
