IDF Officer Killed, Three Soldiers Hurt in Nablus
(Ha'aretz) Captain Moran Vardi, 25, of the IDF's naval commando unit was killed Tuesday and three other soldiers were wounded, one seriously, in a gun battle in Nablus. The commander and deputy commander of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine in Nablus were killed in the fighting. The two wanted men were responsible for a number of suicide attacks in which Israeli civilians were killed.
