(New York Times) Dina Kraft - Michael Kalganov, 29, grew up kayaking the rivers of Uzbekistan. Kalganov is one of Israel's best hopes for an Olympic medal in Athens, having won Israel's only medal at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney, Australia, a bronze in kayaking.
