80 Killed in U.S. Offensive in Iraq
(AP/Boston Globe) U.S. and Iraqi forces launched a major assault Friday to regain control of the insurgent stronghold of Samarra, 60 miles north of Baghdad. Hospital officials said at least 80 people were killed and 100 wounded.
