34 Children Killed in Iraq Car Bomb Attacks
(Washington Post) At least 34 children were killed when a car bomb exploded as they gathered around U.S. soldiers handing out candy and cakes in a southern Baghdad neighborhood after a ribbon-cutting ceremony at a new sewage treatment plant. Half an hour later, as parents and ambulances carried away the wounded, another vehicle nudged into the crowd and exploded.
