Hamas Attempting to Take Control of Gaza Border Crossing
(Israel Defense) Or Heller - Hamas is attempting to take over the Kerem Shalom border crossing between Gaza and Israel. The Palestinian contractor appointed by the PA government in the West Bank, who is in charge of the operation of the Kerem Shalom crossing, has refused to report for work and enable the transfer of commodities from the Israeli side to Gaza. According to assessments, Hamas wants to replace the contractor and take over the operation of the crossing. This decision by Hamas violates the status-quo and threatens the continued proper operation of the crossing.
