PA Readying to Retake Control Over Some West Bank Cities
(Jerusalem Post) - Arnon Regular In a meeting Monday between the prime minister's bureau chief Dov Weisglass and PA Interior Minister Hani al-Hassan, the Palestinians will present a plan for reassuming responsibility over cities in the West Bank and redeploying Palestinian security forces in these towns. The PA will initially try to gain jurisdiction over Ramallah, followed by the cities along the seam line with Israel: Tulkarm, Kalkilya, and Jenin. (Ha'aretz) The talks are a follow-up to talks Sharon held Wednesday with Palestinian Legislative Council Speaker Ahmed Qurei.
