Soccer World Cup: An American Jew in Morocco's Locker Room
(New York Times) - Jack Bell Alan Rothenberg is planning to spend Yom Kippur in Morocco, a Muslim nation. Rothenberg, one of the founders of Major League Soccer, is a consultant for Morocco's bid to play host to the 2010 World Cup and will be in the country for a FIFA (soccer's world governing body) inspection scheduled for the day after Yom Kippur. Rothenberg plans to attend services with Andre Azoulay, a senior adviser to Morocco's King Mohammed VI.
