Israeli Arab Wins Israeli Version of "Big Brother"
(Independent-UK) Justin Huggler - Firas Houri, 21, an Israeli Christian Arab, was named as the winner of Project Y, Israel's version of the reality TV show "Big Brother," after he won the popular phone-in vote. Houri was the only Arab in a house full of Jewish Israelis for three months. Many of the other contestants admitted he was the first real Arab friend they had ever made. Houri stressed repeatedly during the show that what matters to him is individual people, not race or religion. Houri's open-mindedness has won him a lot of popularity in Israel - and his own TV show.
