U.S. "Casts Doubt" on Report of Iranian Ships Approaching U.S.
(Reuters) Admiral Afshin Rezayee Haddad, commander of the Iranian navy's northern fleet, said, "Iran's military fleet is approaching the United States' maritime borders, and this move has a message," the Iranian Fars news agency reported Saturday. In Washington, a U.S. defense official cast doubt on the claims, adding that "ships are free to operate in international waters."
