Egypt Presents Proposal to End War in Gaza
(AP-ABC News) Mohammed Daraghmeh - Egypt presented a proposed cease-fire to Israel and Hamas aimed at ending the month-long war, Palestinian officials said early Wednesday. They said Egypt's proposal calls for easing parts of the Israeli blockade of Gaza, but leaves key areas of disagreement to later negotiations. The current cease-fire is set to expire at midnight on Wednesday. Israeli Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon said he did not know if there would be a deal by Wednesday night and warned that fighting could resume.
