(Washington Post) Richard Cohen - What matters is not the yearnings of everyday people in Iran but the mad dreams of their leaders. Iran's leadership consists of dense theocrats who vow the destruction of Israel. The current supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, is forthright in his hatred: "This barbaric, wolf-like, and infanticidal regime of Israel, which spares no crime, has no cure but to be annihilated." The lessons of history are clear. The Iranian people are irrelevant; only the country's leadership matters.
