Israeli Foreign Ministry Helps Rescue Israeli Arabs Stuck in Saudi Desert
[Israel Today] The Israeli Foreign Ministry was able to assist in the rescue of 47 Israeli Arabs who got stuck in the vast desert of Saudi Arabia when their bus broke down on their way back to Israel after the Hajj pilgrimage. After hours of waiting, one of the travelers called the tour operator in Israel, who called the Foreign Ministry in Jerusalem. The Foreign Ministry phoned the Israeli embassy in Amman, Jordan, which contacted the Jordanian royal palace. The Jordanians called the Saudi royal palace in Riyadh, and two hours after the initial phone call to Israel, Saudi police forces arrived on the scene in the middle of the desert and rescued the Israeli pilgrims.
