Italian Jew Saved Hundreds of Jews from the Nazis
(Ynet News) Liron Nagler-Cohen - At the age of 98, Enzo Cavaglion was presented on Jan. 21 with the Jewish Rescuers Citation for saving the lives of more than 1,000 Jewish refugees in northern Italy during the German occupation. Cavaglion, who was in his 20s at the time, was one of the 14 founding members of the partisan group "Italia Libera" (Free Italy). In addition to the combat they waged against the Germans and Italian fascists, Enzo and his younger brother Riccardo helped Jews who sought refuge in villages around Cuneo, putting their own lives at risk.
