White House: Hamas to Blame for Gaza Violence, "A Gruesome, Unfortunate Propaganda Attempt"
(TIME) Tessa Berenson - White House Deputy Press Secretary Raj Shah said Monday that Hamas bears responsibility for the deaths of Palestinians at the border with Israel. "The responsibility for these tragic deaths rests squarely with Hamas. Israel has the right to defend itself." He referred to the Palestinian protests as a "rather cynical exploitation of the situation" and "a gruesome and unfortunate propaganda attempt."
