(Weekly Standard) Thomas Joscelyn - Twenty years ago, on August 7, 1998, two al-Qaeda operatives drove explosive-laden trucks into the U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania. 224 people were killed and thousands more wounded. Iran showed al-Qaeda how to conduct the attacks, which used the same modus operandi employed by Hizbullah terrorists in 1983 who bombed the U.S. embassy in Beirut, a U.S. Marine barracks, and French military headquarters in Lebanon.
