Kurdish PUK's Barham Salih Elected Iraqi President, Defeating KDP Candidate

(BBC News) Kurdish politician Barham Salih of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) was elected by parliament as president of Iraq on Tuesday, beating Fuad Hussein of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) by 219 to 22, AFP reported.
