Israeli Soldiers Trained in Europe to Destroy Hizbullah Tunnels
(Ha'aretz) Yaniv Kubovich - A year ago, 11 members of the IDF engineering corps were sent to Europe for special training with the best experts in the world and learned about working with similar rock types as the ones in which Hizbullah dug its tunnels from Lebanon. "We realized we had to train people to excavate" - to drill into rock, said a senior IDF officer. "We trained in terrain we weren't accustomed to, working in hard earth and rocky terrain and in tough areas, in order to learn about excavating."
