UK Minister Orders Universities to Crack Down on Anti-Semites
(Daily Mail-UK) Eleanor Harding - UK higher education minister Chris Skidmore said Jewish societies have to pay up to 2,000 pounds for security at events because they are often gate-crashed by thugs. "It is unacceptable to oblige certain groups of students to incur additional costs because of their race or religion, just to counteract the actions of others." In a letter sent to all universities, Skidmore urged them to adopt the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) definition of anti-Semitism to help clamp down on incidents. This follows complaints from Jewish students that they are being made to feel unwelcome at UK universities.
