Russia to Modernize Syrian Port, Build Railway to Persian Gulf
(AP-New York Times) Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov said Tuesday that Russia will spend $500 million to modernize Syria's commercial port of Tartus. There is also a plan to build a railway across Syria and Iraq to the Persian Gulf.
