Jordan Declares State of Emergency to Combat Locust Swarms

(Roya News-Jordan) Jordan's Ministry of Agriculture announced on Tuesday the "utmost state of emergency," as desert locust swarms have descended on Saudi Arabia, especially Hail, 500 km. from the Jordan-Saudi border. Minister of Agriculture Ibrahim Shahadeh said the ministry has set up an emergency room to fight locust swarms that may enter Jordan.
