Israel Welcomes New U.S. Sanctions on Syria

(Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs) Israeli Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi welcomed the Caesar Act legislation expanding sanctions on Syria that came into force on Wednesday, saying: "Assad is responsible and accountable for what happens in Syria and must pay a price for the continued presence of Iran and Hizbullah in his country."
