Al-Aqsa Terrorism: The Role of Religious Motivation in Popular Terrorism
(Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center) Nadav Shragai - The Palestinians' "Al-Aqsa is in danger" libel, which has been intensified in recent decades, has been a highly effective religious trigger for motivating both popular terrorism as well as organized terrorist attacks. The libel arouses strong feelings among the Muslim general public, both religious and nationalist, and it also creates a sense of unity among the Arabs. Hundreds of terrorist attacks were inspired by this false libel.
