Diplomat Refutes UK University Claim that Christians Are at Risk in Israel
(Jewish Chronicle-UK) Sandy Rashty - A report by the University of Birmingham claimed that Christians, who make up 2% of Israel's population, are at "grave risk." Ohad Zemet, spokesman for the Israeli Embassy in the UK, responded: "While Christians and other minority groups are persecuted across the Middle East, Israel is the only country in the region where the Christian population is growing. The Christian community is an integral part of Israeli society and its members serve in senior positions in both the private and public sectors."
